Every time we take a look at vintage Arcana we have to take a deep breath. She is just that exquisite. Her black woven-ribbed mesh base supports a crocheted gold/bronze open-work lace of magnificent delicacy. Rows of lustrous faux pearls are stitched throughout. Shaped somewhat like a hollow horseshoe, Arcana fits over the head like a 3-D headband with the bottom points (joined together by two thin 3" ropes) meant to go in back under the hair. This is where a vintage veil on a comb could be inserted, or she can be worn just as herself. A small comb in the top-front anchors her to the hair. We've run out of words to describe how superbly beautiful and Goddess-like Arcana is for a vintage wedding or high-formal event. Likely from the 30's, this exquisite bridal headpiece was custom-made by Hattie Carnegie and lovingly restored by The Feathered Head. For those of you uninitiated, Hattie Carnegie was a true pioneer and led a fashion empire that set the pace of American fashion for nearly three decades. Always associated with high style, couture and elegance, Carnegie's fashion philosophy is often summed up as "the woman should wear the clothes, not the clothes wear the woman". Crown rises 2" H, measures 26" bottom point to point over top.
