One of the best parts of planning my wedding was finding Andie, the proprietor of The Feathered Head. She makes custom fascinators and hats from her atelier, which is at the rear of a beautiful estate in the hills of Los Angeles. She has a charming studio, filled with gorgeous "findings". I brought a color sample of my wedding dress. Together, we looked at her antique veils, crystal pieces, feathers, etc. and were able to find the perfect fabric rose as the primary element. We then used a piece of antique veil, added tons of hand-glued Swarovski crystals and voilá - the perfect wedding hat. It was comfortable, flattering, romantic and made me feel beautiful and special, as did the entire process with Andie. Trust her to design something special for you -- you'll be thrilled with the results!

I am so glad to have happened upon Andie and The Feathered Head. I truly had no idea what I wanted in a head piece, but knew I wanted something unique and antique! I am so happy to have purchased the most beautiful headpiece from The Feathered Head to wear on my big day! Andie was recommended to me by work colleagues in the Los Angeles area who have used her many times before, and she did not disappoint! I initially went to her website to check out her work and immediately realized this talented lady has “my style” in her repertoire. She has many beautiful pieces online, but is also totally open to designing a custom piece or making changes to pieces she already has made to get the exact look you want. We worked through the design over a 3 week process via email and conference calls (as I am in Calgary, Canada!) and she made the process very fluid and easy. When I received the final piece via FedEx, I was thrilled. The vintage ostrich feather and birdcage veil headpiece is just the right scale (on the bigger scale) and the quality is amazing. I was lucky enough to find Andie from The Feathered Head just by accident as I was searching the internet looking for a milliner to assist me to create a piece for my wedding. Andie immediately understood the vision that I had for my special day and was able to incorporate my love of all things vintage into restoring a very special 1940's crystal headband that she had sourced. The thing that most impressed me though was Andie's genuine and kind nature and her willingness to meet with me and show me the piece both before and after it had been restored. The 1920’s vintage wax orange blossom wreath-crown from The Feathered Head that I wore truly made my outfit and I was able to incorporate it in my hairstyle for the ceremony and pictures (down), and the reception (up for dancing). I went for a romantic, vintage, and bohemian-look and we added little daisies to the headpiece which were also featured in my floral arrangements and bouquets. It was really such a fun wedding! Stress-free and just a blast. We didn't leave the dance floor! I miss it and want to do it all over again if I could. The headpiece was perfect!

The girls wore their hairpieces, the guys wore their boutonnieres, the moms wore their corsages, and EVERYONE loved them! They're all going to keep them to use again.
