Just what exactly IS a fascinator? Well, technically it's a headpiece, commonly made with feathers, sinamay, fabric, flowers, sequins, rhinestones or beads, that attaches to the hair with a clip, comb, headband or barrette. It can be worn as a kicky alternative to a hat. It's the easiest way we know to amp up the style of any outfit and express your personality! From a black tie event to the Kentucky Derby to a Gatsby garden party, fascinators are the perfect accessory. Fashionable and fun, they can be worn on the front, side or, to showcase an updo or chignon, the back of the head. We can custom-design one for you, too!

A "whimsy" consists of an embellished veil that covers the head, much like a fascinator. Typical trims included flowers, feathers, fruit, ribbons, and bows. This style was meant to complement 1950s and 1960s bouffant hairstyles. A lovely example is Elisobelle, a deep purple/eggplant colored linen mini-base with bow surrounded by white millinery petals and green leaves. Her dark veiling goes all the way around the head and can be bobby-pinned to secure her to your head. Very lady-like and very pretty! Hat base is 4" wide, bow is 4.5" wide, veil is 6" from base.
